Frida Kahlo, My Nurse and I, 1937
Frida was not nursed by her own mother, she was nursed by an Indian woman whom her family had hired for that express purpose. There is no attachment between the two, and Frida is reliving her childhood feelings of isolation from her family as an adult here. Seriously, no jokes to make here, this is the most haunting painting she ever made, in my opinion.
